2013 Dodge Avenger - Performance

Standard with the Pentastar V6 engine and optional with 2.4L, the 6 speed automatic transmission delivers smooth, seamless and consistent shifting with robust power and performance. The lowered ride height is great for agile and confident handling. There is also a MacPherson strut front suspension and independent multilink rear suspension teaming together to enhance ride quality for a smooth and exceptionally quiet driving experience. On the RT, there is a sport suspension for improved handling. Speed proportional, power assisted rack and pinion steering provides a good on centre feel and excellent responsiveness.

SHOCK THERAPY.

A finely tuned suspension brings the road to life.

In the front, MacPherson struts are tuned to provide an optimum balance of ride, handling and noise isolation. And in the back, the multi-link rear suspension allows individual movement of the rear wheels over different road surfaces, for the smoothest ride possible. The suspension is uniquely tuned, depending on the model touring-tuned on Dodge Avenger SE and Dodge Avenger SXT, sport-tuned on Dodge Avenger R/T.

ONE STEP AHEAD.

All-speed traction control helps prevent spinouts before they happen.

Traction control helps maintain traction and stability by applying brake pressure to slipping wheels, and reducing engine power when necessary to help the wheels regain traction.

GEAR UP.

Precise shifting with the six-speed automatic AutoStick transmission.

The automatic transmission is equipped with a low first gear, designed to make quick takeoffs from a stop. And it does that while using variable line pressure to help increase gas mileage and enhance reliability. A standard AutoStick feature allows the driver to control shifting if desired.

Two engines with a lot to flex.

Each engine features dual Variable Valve Timing (VVT), which constantly adjusts to improve engine breathing, efficiency and performance.

3.6L Pentastar V6 engine (283 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque). One of Ward's 10 Best for 2012, the 3.6L Pentastar V6 also features Variable Valve Timing (VVT). It uses computer-aided engineering on the structure, and computer controlled intake, and exhaust systems to maximize power and efficiency. All while getting up to 29 hwy mpg. It is mated to the six-speed automatic AutoStick transmission.
