THE POWER TO EXPLORE
Two engines for any occasion.
Does your typical excursion call for a little more power than the 173 horsepower four cylinder stashed under the hood? Then by all means, upgrade. The available 283 horsepower 3.6L Pentastar V6 is just the thing to get any road trip moving.
3.6L Pentastar V6 engine (283 horsepower and 260 lb ft of torque). The 3.6L Pentastar V6 features Variable Valve Timing (VVT), which uses computer aided engineering on the structure, intake, and exhaust systems to maximize power and efficiency. All while getting up
Nice when you're in the middle of nowhere.
A powerful engine doesn't mean much if it can't pack a little efficiency. The standard 173 hp I4 will get up to 26 hwy mpg and 500+ miles on a tank of gas+. Even with the 283hp 3.6L Pentastar engine under the hood, you'll get a satisfying 25 hwy mpg, and over 500 miles per tankful too.
Improved control with All-Wheel Drive.
In addition to our standard front-wheel drive, we've designed the All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) system available on the Dodge Journey R/T to basically transfer power from wheels without traction to wheels with traction, which helps keep every tire gripping its best. The AWD engages automatically when necessary, and then disengages quickly.
Keeping your trailer on the road.
All Dodge Journey models come with standard Trailer Sway Control: if its sensors detect motion that isn't caused by steering input, the system will automatically take steps to reduce the sway.
