Automotive Apprentice Technician


Summary Job Description:

As an Express Lube Technician you will be responsible for performing oil changes / tire rotations, replacing cabin and air filters. Has the ability to perform light duty mechanical repairs and services to vehicles.Work closely with shop foreman.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform express oil and filter services
  • Perform MPI, multi-point inspections on all vehicles
  • Perform minor engine repairs
  • Perform suspension & front end repairs
  • Scan vehicles for fault codes
  • Brake services and repairs
  • replace air filters / cabin filters
  • Perform the work described in the work orders efficiently and accurately.
  • Report on MPI on any additional work required
  • Manage on inventory of filters / supplies
  • Use appropriate tools, test equipment, and report defective or poorly functioning equipment to the supervisor.
  • Obtain required parts from the parts department when needed.
  • Return parts to Parts Department as required.
  • Maintain and develop skill levels in repair and service of vehicles.
  • Keep abreast of federal and provincial regulations and municipal bylaws, such as those governing the removal of hazardous waste, etc.; understands and observes them.
  • Ensure that the shop is clean and tidy.
  • Being punctual daily to start work
  • Perform other tasks, based on management requirements and instructions.


  • Registration with the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
  • A valid Ontario driver's license and a clear driving record.

Working Conditions:

  • Moving about the service department
  • Using computer to look up information
  • Bending, stretching, lifting, reaching and climbing
  • Utilizing physical and manual dexterity
  • Driving a vehicle
  • Using equipment consistent with industry standards

Salary: $16.00 to $18.00 /hour

F & I Manager


Job Description

  • F & I Managers are responsible for the financing of new or used vehicles to existing or new customers. They are expected to meet monthly gross profit targets on a consistent basis. F & I Managers working collectively with sales team must also meet or exceed CSI, customer satisfaction objectives.
  • The ability to thoroughly explain and sell extended service contracts.
  • Maintains a high percentage level of service contract penetration.
  • Consistently hits volume and Gross Profit targets.
  • Educate customers on the benefits of financing versus paying cash
  • Sell dealer financing and credit life, accident and health insurance
  • Submits financing deals accurately and fairly through financial sources to secure approval
  • Process all federal, provincial and dealer paperwork related to vehicle transactions in a timely efficient matter and reviews all paperwork for correct information, taxes, and fees.
  • Maintains a positive attitude at all times
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • 3-5 years' experience as an F & I Manager
  • Reynolds & Reynolds is a must
  • Chrysler dealership experience is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • A detailed oriented individual
  • Ability to take ownership of problems with a positive attitude and bring them to completion.
